Unfortunately the weather for 2025 S&S was raining, however we still managed to get 15 bikes and 12 members to support this very worthwhile.

The Lions Club ‘Show & Shine’ Macclesfield

The club supported the Lions Club at their annual ‘Show & Shine’ day in Macclesfield on 2 Nov 2025. Despite a rainy forecast, eight members departed at 9:30am, collecting Ray Barker en route, and arrived at the event by 10:15am.

Organisers efficiently welcomed us, and our club gazebo, set up by Club Captain Mark Howson, became our gathering point. We had 15 members and 12 BSAs present, a commendable turnout given the weather.

Jodie Allsop joined from Goolwa on a Bantam, with Justin on his A10. A coffee and egg and bacon roll lifted spirits. Visitors admired the bikes, sharing stories despite the rain. The gazebo provided much-needed shelter.

British clubs, including Norton and Triumph, were well-represented. Vaughan Edwards won first prize for best Japanese Bike with his Honda CX 500. Congratulations to Vaughan!

Due to the weather, the event ended early at 12:30pm. We packed up and headed home to warm showers and tea. Thanks to all who attended; it was an enjoyable day despite the rain.
